Overall objective

Overall objective

The Italy-Croatia CBC Programme’s overall objective is

“to increase the prosperity and the blue growth potential
of the area by stimulating
cross-border partnerships
able to achieve tangible changes”.

The main key assets are related to the maritime dimension of the Programme due to the central location of the Adriatic Sea:

  • the maritime character of historical trade relations;
  • the joint asset of natural areas and cultural heritage;
  • the shared importance of economy branches exploiting the rich natural sea-based resources;
  • the transportation patterns and socioeconomic processes.

The challenge for the Programme is that maritime issues are not the subject of a specific Thematic Objective (TO) under ERDF, but rather should be seen as a cross-cutting issue. This creates the challenge of interpreting, prioritizing and integrating the maritime dimension in the selected Priority Axes. The Italy - Croatia Programme is composed of four Priority Axes responding to the identified key assets and challenges, within each of the four priority axes specific joint cross-border actions will be  supported and numerous outputs will be obtained.

INTERVENTION LOGIC

INTERVENTION LOGIC

In this programming period 2014-2020, EU Cohesion policy is characterized by a result-based approach more than ever before.

The Italy-Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme has set the aim to enhance blue innovation, to boost safety and resilience, to support and promote environment and cultural heritage, and to develop and improve environment-friendly and low-carbon transport systems with the overarching ambition to increase stakeholder involvement and cooperation intensity.

For each Specific Objective, expected results are synthetically described in the CP and collected at the following link: expected results description.

Under article 27(4) of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013, the Programme has set out INDICATORS and corresponding targets expressed in quantitative terms in order to assess progress in Programme implementation aimed at the achievement of objectives.
