On Wednesday, 8 July 2026, we visited Conero Regional Park as part of the RESONANCE Public Event. The park represents an important landslide-prone area along the Adriatic coast and was one of the locations where field investigations and research activities were carried out within the RESONANCE project.
We departed from Fano and travelled to the Port of Numana, where we boarded a boat for a cruise along the Conero cliffs. During the visit, we observed several representative coastal sites, including Sassi Neri, San Michele, Portonovo, and Mezzavalle. These locations provided valuable examples of coastal instability, landslide processes, cliff evolution, and hydrogeological risks affecting rocky coastal environments.
The programme continued in Portonovo Bay with a visit to the Church of Santa Maria di Portonovo. The field visit concluded at the Conero Park Visitor Center in Sirolo.
The visit strengthened the practical dimension of the RESONANCE project by allowing us to connect scientific findings and field investigations with direct observation of the processes affecting the Conero coastline. It also highlighted the importance of cooperation among researchers, institutions, and local stakeholders in developing sustainable approaches to coastal and landslide risk management across the Adriatic region.
