Taste of Zadar County Brought Together Local Flavors and Tradition
The Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA invited all interested visitors to attend the gastro-cultural event “Taste the Destination – Flavors of Zadar County”, which took place on June 2, 2026, in the Atrium of Cedulin Palace in Zadar.
Visitors enjoyed a rich program dedicated to authentic flavors, tradition, and the sustainable development of tourism.
Students from the Zadar Hotel, Tourism and Hospitality School, supported by their mentors, prepared traditional local dishes and presented them to visitors. Guests had the opportunity to sample a variety of local dishes and products that reflected the gastronomic heritage of Zadar County.
A raffle featuring valuable local prizes, including prosciutto, wine, Pag cheese, and šokol, added an extra element of excitement to the event.
The program also included a panel discussion titled “Sustainable Gastronomy Tourism – How Local Flavors Create a Destination’s Identity?” Experts in tourism, gastronomy, and destination development discussed the importance of preserving local culinary heritage and its role in creating a recognizable identity and strengthening the competitiveness of tourist destinations.
The event was organized as part of the GUSTI project – Improving the Gastro-Tourism Itinerary in Rural Regions of Croatia and Italy, co-financed through the Italy–Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021–2027.
Participation was free of charge, and attendees discovered how local flavors tell the story of Zadar County.
