Youth engagement and European cooperation: participation at Youth4Sea 2026

26/05/2026

On May 25th, 2026, the ECOFOODCYCLE project took part in the Annual Event 2026 of the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme, “Youth4Sea - Ideas for the Future of Italy-Croatia Cooperation”, held at the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona.

The event represented an important opportunity for discussion focused on the role of younger generations in European cooperation and gathered around 200 participants, including young people, project beneficiaries, institutional representatives and stakeholders from the Adriatic area.

During the event, the ECOFOODCYCLE project was selected as a good practice for the active involvement of young people in project activities, also thanks to the presence of a young team engaged in communication, activity organisation and participation in project processes.

During the talk dedicated to Italy-Croatia projects, the project coordinator, Ms. Maria Valentina Vanceo, took the stage to share the experience developed within ECOFOODCYCLE, with particular attention to the activities carried out with schools and to the importance of youth protagonism in European projects and territorial policies.

Her speech highlighted how the direct involvement of younger generations can represent a concrete added value in building more inclusive, participatory and territory-oriented cooperation paths.

Participation in Youth4Sea 2026 confirms ECOFOODCYCLE’s commitment to promoting innovative practices focused on youth, sustainability and cross-border cooperation between Italy and Croatia.
