The eight short films finally screened in Mestre

On 16 May 2026, the Municipality of Venice, in collaboration with Centro Culturale Candiani in Mestre hosted a special screening event dedicated to the eight short films created within the project.
The short movies, developed by emerging Italian and Croatian directors under 35 and selected through the international call launched at the beginning of the project, invited the audience on an Adriatic Odyssey: a cinematic journey exploring travel in its many forms: physical, inner, symbolic and imagined.
The event was warmly received, bringing together around 50 participants for an afternoon of cinema, dialogue and shared stories. The audience showed strong appreciation for the works presented, confirming the value of supporting young creative voices and cross-border artistic collaboration.
Several participants also expressed interest in future opportunities to watch the short films again, a meaningful sign that the stories presented through REEL travelled beyond the screen and left a lasting impression.
