Within the framework of the SUMMA project, partners continuously monitor and assess infrastructure and policy developments that contribute to improved connectivity between coastal and hinterland areas.
A recent example comes from the Split-Dalmatia County, a project partner, through the development of the Resnik–Divulje maritime passenger terminal, representing an important step towards strengthening connections between air, maritime, and land transport in the Split area.
Such infrastructure developments are fully aligned with the objectives of the SUMMA project, which aims to improve multimodal mobility, reduce traffic congestion during the tourist season, and enhance connections between ports, airports, railways, and urban areas.
In addition to infrastructure, participatory processes play a key role. In this context, the project partner Split-Dalmatia County organised a Mobility Board meeting in February 2026, as part of ongoing activities aimed at involving relevant stakeholders in the planning of sustainable mobility solutions.
The Mobility Board brings together representatives of public authorities, experts, and other key stakeholders, fostering knowledge exchange and supporting the development of practical recommendations for integrated and sustainable transport systems.
The combination of infrastructure development and stakeholder engagement represents a crucial element in achieving the long-term impact of the SUMMA project on cross-border mobility.
