About section

About

SUMMA addresses critical issues related to cross-border passenger mobility and connectivity between ports and hinterlands in the Italy-Croatian Adriatic region. The project's primary objective is to enhance urban mobility, particularly during peak tourist seasons, and improve underdeveloped multimodal connections across ports, airports, railways, and urban areas. By fostering better connectivity within the Programme area and integrating with the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), SUMMA aims to develop sustainable intermodal mobility solutions.

Addressing challenges that are common across the Programme area, SUMMA emphasises the necessity of cross-border cooperation to achieve impactful solutions that benefit local, regional, and national authorities, as well as public and private transport providers. The project's innovative approach includes incorporating participatory processes in strategy development, creating an online platform for aggregating transport data, and establishing legal frameworks that support integrated mobility solutions. By enhancing mobility infrastructure and operational frameworks, SUMMA aims to foster sustainable and efficient transportation systems that support economic growth and environmental sustainability in the Adriatic region.
