From dialogue to coordination. Two days in Ancona for CRESPORT project

02/04/2026

On 31st March, the workshop “Port System Authorities and Cybersecurity” offered a high-level forum for discussion on the evolving challenges of digital security in the maritime sector. Port authorities, national agencies, law enforcement, and operators exchanged views on the national cybersecurity framework, the fight against cybercrime, and the role of organisational models and digital investments in strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure, also drawing on the opportunities offered by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The session featured contributions from Salvatore Minervino, Secretary General of the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, Andrea Minardi from the Port of Ravenna, Admiral Gianluca Galasso from the National Cybersecurity Agency, and representatives from the Postal and Communications Police, CSIRT Italy, and Dinova Srl. The discussion also highlighted how the regulatory path leading to NIS2 has reinforced the need for stronger resilience, clearer responsibilities, and more coordinated action across critical port infrastructures.

The following day, on 1st April 2026, the 5th Steering Committee Meeting brought the project partnership together again at the same venue. The meeting reviewed project progress, with particular attention to the pilot actions underway, the development of innovative solutions for port security, and the main project management aspects, including communication, dissemination, and the next operational steps.

Together, the two events confirmed CRESPORT’s role as a platform for cooperation and knowledge exchange.
