CRESPORT moves into action: Joint Cybersecurity Pilot Actions launched across Adriatic ports

30/01/2026

The project has entered its Operational Phase, pairing continuous coordination with port operators with the rollout of the first Joint Pilot Actions, co-designed by the partnership to match concrete operational needs. The goal is to validate solutions that can be replicated across different port settings, strengthening protection and continuity of essential services.

Two complementary Pilot Actions are in progress:

- The first focuses on resilience countermeasures, with Partner Ports deploying and assessing selected methodologies and techniques to improve the security of digital infrastructures, comparing performance and adaptability across diverse operational contexts.

- The second one is dedicated to coordinated cyber-attack and disaster scenario simulations: structured exercises will test readiness and infrastructure robustness under stress, and each port will develop a simulated attack plan built through transnational collaboration.

In an increasingly digital and interconnected maritime ecosystem - where ports are key nodes for trade, logistics, and energy — this shift to implementation is particularly timely. The evolving EU regulatory landscape, including the NIS2 Directive, reinforces the need for stronger governance, risk management, and incident response.

CRESPORT contributes by translating these requirements into practical, operational testing and shared approaches among Adriatic ports.
