From 14 to 16 July 2026, the University of Foggia will host the ECOFOODCYCLE Cross-Border Multi-Stakeholder Meeting, a three-day event designed to foster dialogue, knowledge exchange and cooperation among the key actors involved in the transition towards more sustainable food systems.
Organised within Activity 3.1 of the ECOFOODCYCLE project, the meeting will bring together project partners, public authorities, researchers, businesses, consumer associations and other stakeholders from across the programme area to discuss innovative approaches to reducing food waste and its environmental footprint.
The programme will combine networking opportunities with expert presentations and discussions on some of the most relevant topics related to food waste prevention. Inspirational talks will explore the role of food labelling, smart packaging solutions, the environmental and economic costs of food waste, and the importance of consumer engagement in promoting more sustainable behaviours.
Participants will also have the opportunity to discover practical experiences through the presentation of pilot actions and to engage directly with the ideas developed during the ECOFOODCYCLE Cross-Border Hackathon, attending the final pitch session and the award ceremony for the most innovative solutions.
The event will conclude with study visits to businesses operating in the agri-food, retail and food waste sectors in the Foggia area, providing participants with first-hand insights into local best practices and successful initiatives.
The Cross-Border Multi-Stakeholder Meeting represents an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration among institutions, academia, businesses and civil society, creating new synergies that will support the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for reducing food waste across the programme area.
