On 6 July 2026, the Mediterranean Aquaculture Association – AMA will host the public session of the BIOBASED Living Lab in Cattolica, Italy.
The event will take place from 14:30 to 18:00 at Casa del Pescatore, Via Enrico Toti 2, 47841 Cattolica, RN, Italy, II Floor.
Organised within the framework of BIOBASED – Development support of blue biorefinery in the Adriatic Sea, co-funded by the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme, the Living Lab will offer an opportunity to share project results and discuss the role of Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA), marine biomass valorisation and blue biorefinery as drivers for a more sustainable and innovative aquaculture sector.
The public session will open with institutional greetings and a welcome note by AMA, followed by the presentation of the BIOBASED project and the Lead Partner’s IMTA results by the University of Foggia. The agenda will then continue with the presentation of PP3’s IMTA results and a report on the morning demo site visit, curated by PP3 and Coop Mare.
A dedicated session will also introduce the Memorandum of Understanding with participating stakeholders, aiming to strengthen cooperation among research organisations, producers, sector representatives and local actors. The event will conclude with an open discussion, Q&A session, recommendations and final remarks.
The Living Lab is addressed to stakeholders, producers, SMEs, sector organisations, public authorities and all actors interested in sustainable aquaculture, blue economy innovation and the development of circular value chains in the Adriatic Sea.
