Custom Detail
The AWASTER project (Adopting WAste as a Resource) is the Standard project funded under the 1st Call for Proposals.
The project aims to address the pressing issue of waste production and its detrimental impact on the environment and biodiversity in the Programme area. With coastal tourism being a significant contributor to waste generation, especially plastic pollution that ends up in the Adriatic Sea, the project seeks to develop a common approach across the region.
By promoting the transition to a circular economy model, the project aims to minimize waste generation and promote recycling and waste reuse. Through educational courses, workshops, and innovative training schemes, the project targets both consumers, with a focus on youth, and the economy sector to improve knowledge and practices in waste management. Joint pilot actions will be implemented, including establishing small-scale EcoLabs to process plastic waste and produce innovative products, as well as organizing waste-free events to showcase best practices.
The Kick-off meeting, along with the Steering Committee meeting, will take place in Labin on the 23rd & 24th of April 2024.
