Youth4Sea Project Fair: REEL was the participants' favourite project

Youth4Sea was more than just an opportunity for attendees to collectively discuss youth engagement, it also provided a dynamic space to demonstrate how Interreg Italy-Croatia projects are successfully involving young people today.
The highlight of the networking breaks was the Project Fair, where six projects - REEL, MAPA, UNDERSEA, ADRINCLUSIVE, ARCHAEODIGIT, and STRENGTH - presented the activities and approaches they developed with young people and for young people.
Young representatives from each project took centre stage in simultaneous sessions to showcase their direct involvement in project activities. While exploring the stands, participants they were invited to cast an anonymous vote for the project they would have most liked to join themselves.
Before the event concluded, the REEL project, led by the Apulia Film Commission, was announced as their favourite.
Funded under Specific Objective 4.1, REEL tackles the challenge of diversifying and reorienting tourist flows in Italy and Croatia through the power of film-induced tourism. Because the audiovisual industry is inherently transnational, cross-border collaboration is essential to fully leveraging the potential of the Programme area.
A major added value to REEL’s winning presentation was the meaningful contribution of Roberto Trainotti, a 21-year-old filmmaker from Trentino. Roberto was among the young Italian participants selected for the Cross-border Youth Camp, which was held in Dubrovnik in October 2025 and hosted by project partner Kinematografi Dubrovnik. The camp was designed to strengthen participants’ cinema and directing skills, guiding them through the entire filmmaking process from initial writing to final production.
Ultimately, this recognition at Youth4Sea confirms the audiovisual sector's strategic ability to resonate with younger generations, actively involving them in enhancing the cultural, natural, and historical heritage of the Adriatic area.
