Mapping Points of interest and services along the cycling routes

16/07/2026

Considering that at the European level, a commonly agreed methodology for touristic data collection is not available, the different data collection methodologies defined in this report will work on two different levels:

Mandatory data. These data have to be collected from all the project’s partners. They have a common cross-border value.
Additional data. Each project’s partner can decide whether to collect these data or not. The key goal is to enrich the common data framework provided to policy-makers and tourists/cycling.

Considering that data on cycle paths are collected in Cyros Work Package 1, in this deliverable the focus is on two different kinds of data:

Public Transport data. This data refers to the data on available buses, trains, and other sustainable mobility-sharing services existing in the Cyros project area. These are fundamental data to plan intermodal travel and plan really sustainable journeys without the use of a private car.
Touristic data. These data refer to: a) the touristic point of interest (POI) relevant for cycle tourists moving along the cycleways; b) The local services and infrastructure for cycle tourists to support cyclists along the cycleways.
