Interreg Italy–Croatia contributes to the SITE training session on capitalisation and EU funding opportunities

On 10 July 2026, the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme took part in the training session "From Interreg to Directly Managed EU Programmes", organised in Bari within the framework of the SITE – Sistema Italia in Europa project.

The initiative, promoted by the Department for European Affairs of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with the support of Eutalia, aims to strengthen Italy's participation in directly managed European programmes by enhancing coordination, project development capacity and cooperation among public administrations, research organisations, universities, businesses and civil society.

The Programme contributed to the session dedicated to "Interreg experiences: results, capitalisation methods and opportunities for further development", presenting its experience in supporting project capitalisation.

The discussion brought together representatives of several Interreg programmes to exchange experiences on how the knowledge, methodologies, partnerships and outputs developed through European Territorial Cooperation can be further enhanced and connected with funding opportunities under directly managed EU programmes.

During the session, the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme shared practical examples of how capitalisation can strengthen territorial partnerships, increase the impact of project results and pave the way for new European cooperation initiatives beyond the lifetime of Interreg projects.

The event also included a hands-on workshop focused on identifying capitalisable project outputs, matching them with relevant EU programmes and calls, and exploring potential partnerships and future project pathways. It highlighted the great asset provided by Interreg projects, partners and results, on which future opportunities for Europe may be built on, accross programmes and projects.
