MILEPORT presented at the AUTOSUP & CROSSFREIGHT joint event in Trieste

On 1 July 2026, the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea took part in the AUTOSUP & CROSSFREIGHT Joint Event, held in Trieste and bringing together representatives of European institutions, ports, logistics operators, technology platforms and EU-funded projects to discuss the future of digital and sustainable freight transport.
During the keynote session, Alberto Cozzi presented the experience of the Port Authority in the implementation of several European initiatives, including MILEPORT, highlighting how digital technologies can improve the management of road access to ports and multimodal freight terminals.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives of ESPO, the Interreg Italy–Croatia Joint Secretariat, Waterborne TP, ALICE and several other European projects working on automation, digitalisation and multimodal logistics.
MILEPORT was presented as a practical example of how European cooperation can support the deployment of intelligent solutions for the road last mile, contributing to more efficient freight flows, reduced congestion and better integration between ports and hinterland transport networks.
The event also included a round table on future challenges for freight transport and a workshop dedicated to business models and automation in multimodal logistics, further strengthening links between ongoing European initiatives.
