The European Commission has selected our Programme to receive tailor-made support under the Interreg Governance Facility (InterregGov) Call for Pilot Programmes.
The initiative supports Interreg cross-border cooperation programmes in implementing the ISO1 objective “Better cooperation governance”, with a focus on addressing cross-border obstacles and strengthening people-to-people cooperation.
Through this initiative, we will receive free expert support to improve the identification and analysis of cross-border challenges, strengthen governance approaches, and prepare future ISO1 actions for the 2028–2034 programming period.
The Italy-Croatia cooperation area faces specific challenges, including limited data availability, difficulties in stakeholder engagement across a wide maritime border, scarce transport connections, language barriers, different administrative practices, and varying institutional capacities. The support will include stakeholders mapping, structured data collection on cross-border obstacles, exchange of experiences and good practices, validation of ISO1 evaluation findings, and the promotion of cooperation among projects and stakeholders. It will also help potential beneficiaries better understand ISO1 opportunities and develop sustainable solutions for future cross-border interventions.
By providing access to specialised expertise and facilitating dialogue among relevant stakeholders, the initiative will contribute to stronger cooperation mechanisms, improved governance capacities, and more effective cross-border solutions, supporting long-term territorial integration across the Adriatic area.
