On 18–19 June 2026, ADRIJOROUTES took part in the III Mediterranean Sustainable Tourism Convention in Barcelona, an important international event dedicated to discussing the future of tourism across the Mediterranean region.
Organised around the theme “Tourism Transition in the Mediterranean”, the Convention brought together policy-makers, public authorities, tourism professionals, researchers and experts to exchange perspectives and explore innovative approaches towards more sustainable, resilient and inclusive tourism models.
Within this framework, ADRIJOROUTES was selected by the Interreg Euro-MED Joint Secretariat as a meaningful example of cross-border cooperation and presented by the Lead Partner during the event.
This recognition highlights the relevance of the project’s approach in addressing shared challenges and opportunities across the Adriatic-Ionian area through cooperation, innovation and sustainable tourism development.
The participation in the Convention offered a valuable opportunity to showcase ADRIJOROUTES’ objectives and achievements to a high-level international audience, while contributing to a broader discussion on how destinations can evolve through collaborative and integrated strategies.
By promoting cross-border connections and encouraging sustainable tourism pathways, ADRIJOROUTES continues to support a more connected and balanced development of Mediterranean territories.
