On 18–19 June 2026, the Adrinclusive project was presented in Barcelona during the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism session held as part of the III MED Sustainable Tourism Convention.
Organised by the Barcelona Provincial Council in collaboration with the Community4Tourism partnership within the framework of the Mediterranean Sustainable Tourism Community, the event brought together policymakers, project partners, tourism stakeholders, and regional development actors from across the Mediterranean to discuss the future of sustainable tourism.
The convention provided an excellent opportunity for Adrinclusive to showcase its achievements in promoting accessible and inclusive tourism destinations. During the session, project representatives presented key results, methodologies, and lessons learned, highlighting how accessibility contributes to a more sustainable, resilient, and socially responsible tourism sector.
A particular focus was placed on strengthening the connection between project outcomes and mainstream regional funding mechanisms. The exchange demonstrated how initiatives supporting accessible tourism can be integrated into broader regional development strategies, ensuring that project results continue to generate impact beyond the project’s lifetime.
Participation in the convention also facilitated valuable networking opportunities with other Mediterranean initiatives working on sustainable tourism, fostering knowledge exchange and potential future cooperation.
By contributing to discussions on tourism transition in the Mediterranean, Adrinclusive reaffirmed its commitment to making tourism more accessible for all while supporting the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of destinations across the region.
