Connecting projects, protecting the Adriatic: BIOPRESSADRIA meets MARE SUPERUM

At the Venice Boat Show, the BIOPRESSADRIA project was represented not only through the conference titled “Concrete Solutions for the Protection of Marine Seagrasses and Sustainable Boating in the Adriatic Sea.” The following day, on the 29th of May, the project also took centre stage during the conference of the project “MARE SUPERUM. The Upper Adriatic: an Opportunity for Sustainable Development and the Preservation of Cultural Heritage" organised by Confartigianato Venezia and co-funded by the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme.
During the event, the Municipality of Monfalcone, the Lead Partner of BIOPRESSADRIA, and SELC, a project partner, presented the project’s objectives and goals and showcased the pilot actions implemented at the project sites in Italy and Croatia.
The conference provided an important opportunity for discussion and the exchange of experiences among projects sharing a common focus on the sea and on environmental and social sustainability across the Adriatic region. From a cross-fertilisation perspective between projects and cross-border cooperation Programmes, the event fostered dialogue between the biodiversity conservation activities promoted by BIOPRESSADRIA and strategies for developing a sustainable cross-border tourism offer that enhances marine and cultural heritage while respecting and preserving natural resources.
