Students, graduates, young researchers, project partners and representatives of the private sector from Croatia and Italy gathered in Monfalcone, Italy, for an international Study Visit focused on strengthening cooperation between education, research and industry within the blue economy.

The programme provided participants with a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into innovation-driven environments and key stakeholders shaping the maritime sector. The visit included the Port of Monfalcone, the Beneteau production facility and local institutional actors, offering valuable perspectives on industrial development, technological innovation and sustainable growth.

Beyond the site visits, the event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and discussion, enabling participants to connect with professionals, researchers and industry representatives from across the Adriatic region.

The Study Visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry and contributed to the development of stronger links that support skills development, innovation and future career opportunities in blue economy sectors.

By bringing together participants from different backgrounds and countries, the event reinforced the value of cross-border cooperation and demonstrated how shared knowledge and experiences can help address future challenges and opportunities in the maritime economy.
