Youth4Sea 2026: Youth Engagement Beyond Borders

On 25 May 2026 in Ancona, we participated in Youth4Sea – the Interreg Italy-Croatia Annual Event 2026, which brought together around 200 participants, including young people, project representatives, institutions and Programme stakeholders, with the aim of strengthening youth engagement in cooperation and decision-making processes.
The event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, ideas and good practices on how to create meaningful opportunities for young people to actively contribute to European cooperation initiatives and programmes. Through panel discussions, project showcases, workshops and networking activities, participants explored ways to strengthen youth participation and ensure that young voices are included in shaping future cooperation policies and initiatives.
Particular attention was given to the importance of continuous youth involvement, creating accessible spaces for participation and avoiding symbolic inclusion without real impact. Discussions highlighted the need for long-term engagement and stronger connections between institutions, organisations and younger generations.
We were pleased to take part in this inspiring event, connect with various projects and organisations, and contribute to discussions on the future of youth engagement within the Interreg framework.
