The video documents every step of this extraordinary experience. In the official video reportage of the two-day event, you can get a closer look at the activities that featured our students as main protagonists:
- day 1, classroom lectures with deep-dive sessions dedicated to marine governance, ecosystem services, and the ecological impact of invasive alien species, with a specific focus on the blue crab;
- day 2, fieldwork and hands-on training with students working in the field to operate monitoring equipment, set blue crab traps, collect data with hydraulic probes, conduct genetic sampling for environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis, and conduct a plastic debris cleanup along the coast.
A Cross-Border Cooperation for the Environment
The training initiative was hosted by DiSTeBA (University of Salento) and organized in close and synergistic collaboration with the BlueDiversity project partners: Eduforma, Sea&Karst, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Nature Public Institution, and the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries.
