The official agenda for the international workshop “Replicability of Blue Stewardship for Climate Change Adaptation” is now available, presenting a diverse programme focused on sustainable groundwater management, Blue Credits systems, climate adaptation, and the replicability of innovative water stewardship models across Europe.
The workshop will open with an introduction to the BLUE RECHARGE project by Cosima Trevisanello, who will present the project objectives, activities, partner collaboration and the overall Blue Stewardship approach, including the system architecture and its core components.
The session dedicated to replication readiness and territorial diagnostics will be led by Bojana Hajduk Černeha, focusing on territorial screening methodologies, eligibility assessment, market demand analysis for Blue Credits certificates, as well as climate and environmental risk sensitivity. The presentation will also include insights from the Croatian pilot example developed within the project.
Regulatory and institutional aspects of replication will be presented by Davor Mance, who will address policy guidelines, European Union directive frameworks, institutional and technical requirements, and the role of public-private partnerships in supporting Blue Credit markets and sustainable water governance models.
A dedicated session on certification and monitoring will be delivered by Alessandro Bosso, covering the certification framework overview, third-party certification and verification procedures, water quality assurance processes, climate adaptation and environmental co-benefits, as well as performance evaluation and KPI monitoring systems.
The operational and technical functioning of the Blue Credit platform will be presented by Bruno Giordano, with a focus on how the platform supports management, monitoring, and implementation of Blue Credits systems.
The programme also includes an international exchange session featuring Vladimir Lukic, Head of the Hydrogeology and Groundwater Hydraulics Department at the Jaroslav Černi Water Institute, and Matevž Vremec, Assistant Professor at Alma Mater Europaea University. Their presentations will contribute to discussions on groundwater management practices, climate resilience approaches, scientific research perspectives, and the feasibility of replicating Blue Stewardship models across different territorial and institutional contexts.
In addition to expert presentations, the workshop will provide space for open discussion and knowledge exchange between participants, institutions, and stakeholders interested in innovative approaches to climate resilience and sustainable water resource management.
