Pilot action successfully carried out in Novigrad

22/04/2026

From 18 to 21 April, Novigrad welcomed 14 participants from the twin town of Sacile, Italy, for a carefully designed inclusive holiday experience at the Laguna Hotel.

This pilot action brought together individuals with cognitive impairments and their caregivers, creating a supportive environment with multiple benefits. Participants engaged in creative, sensory and social activities, while caregivers were given time to rest, connect with one another and share their experiences. Throughout the programme, professional support ensured safety, comfort and personalised care.

Over four days, the programme combined relaxation, creativity and cultural exploration. Activities included art and sensory workshops, music and social evenings, a guided tour of Novigrad’s historic centre, a reading session with creative elements, and a final presentation involving international and local stakeholders.

The results were highly encouraging. Participants became progressively more relaxed, while caregivers reported improved emotional well-being and expressed strong appreciation for the opportunity to rest and connect with peers.

This pilot action highlights the importance of inclusive tourism and addresses the needs of families affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, a segment that requires greater attention and tailored support.

We extend our sincere thanks to all partners, experts and the Aminess team for their dedication and contribution to the successful implementation of this initiative.
