Our Project presented at the OSI Event: strengthening synergies for inclusive tourism

The SITE project continues its commitment to promoting inclusive and accessible tourism through active participation in external events and cross-project collaboration.

Recently, project representatives Lorenzo Castelli (Lead Partner – University of Trieste) and Caterina Vidulli (PP5 – Central Marketing Intelligence) took part in the OSI event. This represented an important opportunity to engage with other projects and stakeholders working towards shared objectives in the Programme area.

Promoting SITE and its mission

During the event, SITE delegates presented the project’s vision and ongoing activities, highlighting its core objective: fostering a more inclusive tourism ecosystem through the application of Universal Design principles.

By addressing accessibility in communication, wayfinding systems, and public spaces, the project aims to reduce barriers and improve the overall travel experience for a wide range of users, including people with disabilities, elderly travellers, and families .

The participation in the OSI event contributed to increasing the visibility of the project and raising awareness about the importance of inclusive tourism within the broader Interreg community.

Building synergies and future collaborations

A key aspect of the event was the opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices with other Interreg projects. These moments of dialogue are essential to:

  • identify common challenges and shared goals
  • explore potential synergies between initiatives
  • foster collaboration beyond project boundaries

Strengthening cooperation across projects is fully in line with the Interreg Programme’s approach, which promotes integrated and coordinated actions to enhance regional development and sustainability .

Dissemination as a driver of impact

Participation in external events such as the OSI initiative plays a crucial role in SITE’s communication and dissemination strategy. By engaging with a wider audience of stakeholders, institutions, and practitioners, the project contributes to spreading knowledge on inclusive tourism and encouraging the adoption of Universal Design solutions across different territories.

These activities are fundamental to ensuring that project results go beyond the partnership and generate long-term impact within and outside the Programme area.
