Digital Solutions for the Last Mile: High-Level Event in Trieste

Trieste, 25 March 2026 – MILEPORT actively participated in the High-Level Cross-Fertilisation Event on digitalising road last-mile access to ports and multimodal freight terminals. Hosted in Trieste, the event gathered key stakeholders including the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Interporto di Trieste, the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, authorities and operators from Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Belgium, Ireland, and Italy, as well as representatives from cities such as Hamburg and Amsterdam. The event also saw participation from leading European road and port institutions, EUSAIR representatives, EU Corridor representatives, and the Joint Secretariats of Interreg Italy–Croatia and Interreg Central Europe.
The discussions focused on data sharing, interoperability, and digital solutions to improve efficiency, reduce congestion, and enhance the management of key logistics nodes. MILEPORT contributed by promoting scalable and transferable approaches, reinforcing synergies with complementary European projects including ACCESSMILE, MERIDIAN, PRESPORT, and ELODIE.
