Final Workshops of the Creative Living Laboratories Successfully Completed

31/03/2026

The INOVAcija Institution has successfully concluded a cycle of Creative Living Laboratory workshops. The first one focused on linking visual arts—specifically painting—with the reinterpretation of the historical and literary heritage of coastal areas, the second one focused on the reinterpretation of traditional gastronomic heritage and folk legends through contemporary digital expression and the third one focused on the use of ceramics and stone in reinterpreting ethno-heritage and island lifestyles.

The final workshop of the CLL that focused on linking visual arts—specifically painting—with the reinterpretation of the historical and literary heritage of coastal areas took place on March 19, 2026, in Nin, through an interpretative walk connecting the Nin saltworks, the historic town centre, and the courtyard of the Community Centre, where the creative segment of the programme was carried out.

The tenth and final workshop of the Creative Laboratory dedicated to the reinterpretation of traditional gastronomy and folk legends through modern digital media was held in the Municipality of Ražanac. The closing session included a thematic walk along the “Path of Love” in Ljubač (March 20, 2026), practically demonstrating the potential of the developed concept by linking natural and cultural heritage with local offerings. The implementation of the laboratory was flexibly adapted to circumstances, while maintaining continuity and successfully delivering all planned activities.

The tenth workshop of the Creative Laboratory that focused on the use of ceramics and stone in reinterpreting ethno-heritage and island life took place on the island of Pag. The final practical session was held on March 21, 2026, at the “Vina otoka Paga” winery, featuring an interpretative and workshop-based program. Despite minor limitations, the laboratory successfully tested the concept of connecting art and heritage, with proposals for further development through art-tourism residencies. The implementation remained flexible, resulting in a developed prototype description accompanied by a narrative and promotional guidelines.

The final sessions of the creative laboratories were successfully carried out, enriched by the presence of Italian mentors/tutors whose valuable contributions played a key role in their delivery. Their involvement further reinforced the cross-border collaboration between Italy and Croatia—an essential element for the SOCRAT project.

The Creative Laboratories are thematically oriented toward the reinterpretation of local tangible and🤗 intangible cultural heritage and represent a pilot activity within the SOCRAT project (SOcializing CRaft & Contemporary Art for Sustainable Tourism). The project aims to develop new and innovative tourism products and experiences.
