From 20 to 22 March 2026, the ADRIJOROUTES project successfully participated in the PLACE2GO International Tourism Fair in Zagreb, Croatia.
The event, one of the most important tourism fairs in Southeast Europe, brought together tourism professionals, destinations, institutions and travel enthusiasts from many countries, offering a dynamic platform for networking, inspiration and collaboration within the tourism sector.
Throughout the three-day event, the ADRIJOROUTES partnership welcomed numerous visitors at stand 10, presenting the project’s vision of sustainable maritime cultural tourism in the Adriatic region.
Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the project’s goals, which focus on promoting sustainable tourism solutions, strengthening cross-border cooperation and enhancing the cultural value of Adriatic port cities. The project aims to create innovative tourism experiences by connecting cultural heritage, digital tools and local communities across Italy and Croatia.
During the fair, the ADRIJOROUTES team introduced the Adrijo platform, a digital network dedicated to the cultural heritage of Adriatic ports. The platform offers thematic routes and interactive experiences that allow users to explore the rich maritime history of the Adriatic region.
Participation in PLACE2GO proved to be an excellent opportunity to:
- Engage with tourism professionals and stakeholders
- Present the ADRIJOROUTES concept to a wider international audience
- Exchange ideas on sustainable tourism development
- Strengthen connections between Adriatic destinations
The strong interest shown by visitors confirmed the growing attention towards sustainable and culturally driven tourism experiences.
The ADRIJOROUTES project will continue working to promote the shared maritime heritage of Adriatic ports and to develop innovative cultural routes that connect communities, visitors and destinations across the Adriatic.
