IN2TECH – Local Peer Exchange organised by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region to explore technological solutions for the Blue Economy

06/03/2026

On 3 March 2026, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, in collaboration with TEC4I FVG, organised the event “IN2TECH – Local Peer Exchange” at the TEC4I FVG Conference Room in Udine. The workshop was implemented within the framework of the IN4BLUE project, funded by the Interreg Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 Programme.

The event brought together professionals, innovators, representatives of the cultural and creative sectors, and stakeholders interested in the Blue Economy, with the aim of encouraging dialogue and knowledge exchange on technological solutions that support sustainable development in maritime and coastal contexts.

The afternoon session was designed as an interactive workshop, combining presentations, practical insights and discussion moments. Participants had the opportunity to explore technical approaches and applied technologies that can contribute to innovation in Blue Economy sectors, with a particular focus on the integration between technological development and cultural and creative industries.

During the workshop, experts provided practical guidance and recommendations on how to develop technical solutions adopting sustainable approaches. Particular attention was given to design processes and additive manufacturing technologies, both for metals and polymers, illustrated through real use cases and hands-on examples that demonstrated their potential applications in maritime-related sectors.

Another key topic addressed during the event concerned the opportunities offered by creative and immersive digital technologies, highlighting how tools such as digital visualization, immersive environments and interactive experiences can support innovation, communication and product development in the Blue Economy.

The programme also included a Q&A session, allowing participants to interact directly with the experts, followed by a group discussion and peer exchange session aimed at fostering networking and sharing experiences among participants. This collaborative format encouraged dialogue between different professional backgrounds and stimulated reflections on possible future applications and collaborations.

Through this initiative, the IN4BLUE project aimed to strengthen local knowledge exchange, promote the adoption of innovative and sustainable technologies, and support the creation of connections between technology providers, creative professionals and Blue Economy stakeholders in the region.

The event represented an important opportunity to raise awareness about innovation opportunities within the Blue Economy and to stimulate the development of cross-sectoral collaborations, contributing to the broader objectives of the IN4BLUE project.
