Inclusive Culture and Tourism for the Future of Our Territories

12/02/2026

An intense and inspiring first day marked the launch of the training course “Inclusive Culture and Tourism for the Future of Our Territories”, organised within the framework of the ADRINCLUSIVE.

The day provided a dynamic space for exchange and reflection on key themes such as inclusion, accessibility, and dementia-friendly tourism. Professors, tourism professionals, students, and sector workers came together to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices, united by a common objective: to build territories that genuinely welcome everyone.

Inclusion begins with understanding, attentive listening, and the thoughtful design of services that respond to people’s needs, including their vulnerabilities. This shared awareness laid the foundation for meaningful dialogue and collaborative learning.

Second Day of Training: From Theory to Practice

The second day of the training course further developed the project’s focus on promoting tourism models that are increasingly inclusive and attentive to the needs of people living with dementia.

Participants explored in depth the role of psychosocial activities during holidays - essential tools for fostering wellbeing, encouraging relationships, and promoting the active participation of guests.

Moving beyond theory, the session emphasised hands-on collaboration. Trainees worked together to design so-called “without defeat” activities, aimed at enhancing residual skills, stimulating positive emotions, and creating authentic opportunities for connection and shared experiences.

The strong engagement, enthusiasm, and sensitivity demonstrated by all participants highlighted the importance of capacity-building initiatives such as this within the project.

Together, we continue to advance towards a tourism sector that is more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the diverse needs of our communities.
