The Train-the-Mentors Programme Continues in Sepino Archaeological Park

06/02/2026

Sepino, Italy. The ARCHAEODIGIT Joint Train-the-Mentors Programme continues in Sepino Archaeological Park, marking a key milestone in the project’s mission to enhance professional capacity, foster knowledge transfer, and strengthen inclusive approaches to cultural heritage valorisation.

Delivered in English and in a hybrid format, the programme combines 12 hours of online mentor training with 96 hours of in-person sessions, designed to allow participants to progressively develop mentor–mentee relationships through guided exercises, role plays, and collaborative workshops.

Led by Juraj Dobrila University of Pula (UPU), in collaboration with local universities and external experts, the programme brings together professionals from cultural heritage, tourism, and digital innovation sectors. This diversity encourages interdisciplinary discussion and knowledge exchange, helping participants explore innovative approaches to heritage valorisation, digital transformation, and sustainable tourism.

The Sepino sessions focus on practical engagement, using interactive case studies, group simulations, and role plays. Participants strengthen mentoring skills while learning to design strategies that support inclusive, sustainable, and digitally enhanced cultural tourism in their local contexts. In addition to individual skill development, the programme aims to establish long-term networks and peer-learning structures that will continue to support the Adriatic–Ionian region.

By empowering mentors and fostering knowledge sharing, the programme contributes to creating resilient, collaborative, and digitally-enabled heritage tourism ecosystems across all ARCHAEODIGIT test areas.
