Info Day Macerata - Tools, Experiences and Perspectives for the Protection and Enhancement of Archaeological Heritage
Best practices compared
On 7 May 2026, the ARCHAEODIGIT project will take part in the Macerata Infoday, a public event dedicated to the protection, management and enhancement of archaeological heritage. The event will also represent an opportunity to present the project’s activities, with a specific focus on the local piloting phase carried out in collaboration with stakeholders.
The initiative will bring together institutions, researchers and cultural practitioners to exchange knowledge, best practices and lessons learned from both research and on-the-ground implementation.
The event will take place at the Biblioteca Mozzi Borgetti (Auditorium), in Macerata, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and is organised by the Comune di Macerata.
A moment for dialogue and exchange
The initiative aims to foster discussion on how archaeological heritage can be better protected and promoted through innovative tools, digital technologies and integrated approaches, while also showcasing practical experiences emerging from local pilot actions.
By bringing together different perspectives - from public administrations to academia and cultural organisations - the event will highlight both challenges and opportunities in the field, with a particular focus on sustainability, accessibility and territorial development.
Programme overview
The event is structured into two thematic sessions, followed by a roundtable discussion.
Session I – Conservation and protection of archaeological heritage: tools and experiences
This session will focus on:
- digital solutions for sustainable and disaster-resilient heritage management
- the role of digitisation in risk prevention and response
- methods and strategies for planning archaeological parks
Session II – Enhancement of archaeological heritage: practices and narratives of the regional territory
The second session will explore:
- digital storytelling and tools for communicating heritage
- accessibility and innovative use of archaeological sites
- integrated approaches to strengthening cultural identity and territorial value
The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion and closing remarks, offering space for dialogue among speakers and participants, with a focus on experiences, challenges and lessons learned from pilot implementation.
