EUSAIR STRATEGY AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ADRIATIC SEA: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FUTURE
The ASPEH project is pleased to announce the upcoming cross-border event on the EUSAIR Strategy and the sustainable development of the Adriatic Sea, taking place in Bari, Italy, on March 25, 2026, at the Puglia Region headquarters (Hall B).
Organized by the Management Consortium of Torre Guaceto, the event will bring together institutional representatives, experts, and participants from across the Adriatic area to explore challenges and opportunities for the future of marine and coastal ecosystems, within the framework of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).
The event will feature the participation of several experts and institutional representatives, including Senad Oprašić, co-coordinator of EUSAIR Pillar 3 “Environmental Quality”, contributing to a discussion on biodiversity protection and sustainable development in the Adriatic region.
A dedicated cross-border round table will provide a space for dialogue among institutional actors and experts, focusing on the identification of joint actions to improve the management of Natura 2000 sites and strengthen cooperation between Italy and Croatia.
The event will also highlight the role of the ASPEH project in contributing to the European Biodiversity Strategy 2030, as well as recent regulatory developments related to the restoration of marine ecosystems.
By fostering dialogue among public authorities, environmental organizations, and experts, the event aims to support the development of shared strategies and coordinated approaches for biodiversity conservation in the Adriatic region.
