Učilište Kalelarga is a private adult education institution based in Zadar, Croatia, operating since 2016. The institution holds extensive experience in developing and implementing formal and non-formal adult education programmes, aligned with Croatian and EU strategic priorities in lifelong learning, labour market inclusion, and skills development.
Učilište Kalelarga currently offers over 110 accredited programmes across 12 thematic areas, including tourism, healthcare, social care, ICT, entrepreneurship, and foreign languages. The institution places a strong emphasis on upskilling low-qualified adults, unemployed persons, and vulnerable groups (e.g. older adults, long-term unemployed, migrants) through tailored learning paths and competence-based approaches.
Regarding SO 2.2 (Nature protection and pollution reduction), Učilište Kalelarga has recently introduced green skills modules and thematic workshops related to sustainable development and environmental awareness. The institution is prepared to support adult education programmes focused on climate literacy, digital tools for citizen science, and participatory coastal monitoring initiatives.
In relation to SO 4.1 (Culture and sustainable tourism), Učilište Kalelarga has delivered vocational training for animators and hospitality workers. The institution actively promotes place-based learning and experiential education, which can support the creation of new inclusive and sustainable tourism products rooted in local identity. Our team has the pedagogical and technical capacity to co-develop training modules in collaboration with cultural institutions and community stakeholders.
Concerning SO 5.1 (Better cooperation governance), Učilište Kalelarga can contribute to actions promoting digital inclusion, multilingualism and better access to public services for adult learners in border regions. Our trainers and staff have experience in designing adult-friendly educational content in both Croatian and English, and the institution is equipped with an LMS platform and digital tools for hybrid or online learning delivery. We are particularly interested in developing more accessible and cross-border-compatible learning formats for use in public adult education centres.
Učilište Kalelarga is well integrated in the regional education and employment ecosystem and collaborates with public employment services, municipalities, chambers, NGOs and private enterprises. As a future project partner, we can take responsibility for:
• Developing and piloting educational modules for adults (formal, non-formal or informal),
• Organising training events, workshops, seminars and awareness-raising campaigns,
• Facilitating access to disadvantaged learners,
• Supporting evaluation and certification of learning outcomes,
• Promoting project results through our communication channels and network.
