Organisation expertise

ASSIDEMA – the Italian Association of Destination Managers – was founded from the vision of a group of tourism professionals in Italy. Our mission is to define, develop, and promote a new generation of Destination Managers: highly skilled, innovative, and interconnected professionals capable of operating effectively in both the public and private sectors. ASSIDEMA aims to significantly contribute to the development and promotion of Italian tourist destinations through the enhancement of this strategic role. Key competences promoted by ASSIDEMA include: Strategic planning and integrated management of tourism destinations Development of sustainable tourism models that balance economic growth, environmental protection, and social inclusion Stakeholder engagement and coordination among public institutions, private operators, and local communities Destination branding, marketing, and digital communication Data analysis and performance monitoring to guide decision-making Knowledge of national and EU tourism policies and funding opportunities Innovation in tourism product development and visitor experience design Crisis management and resilience building for destinations facing environmental, social, or economic challenges ASSIDEMA strongly emphasizes sustainability as a cross-cutting principle in all destination management processes, supporting long-term value creation for territories and communities.
