The Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA) is a professional, non-profit organization founded by the City of Dubrovnik in 2007 to support the economic, social, and cultural development of the city. DURA plays a central role in strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises and serves as a vital link between the local government and institutions that support regional growth. DURA is key in development planning and project implementation in Dubrovnik. It works closely with businesses, public bodies, and other stakeholders to develop and execute projects that are socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. Its mission includes implementing the City of Dubrovnik’s Development Strategy, coordinating and facilitating access to national and EU funding opportunities, and supporting young entrepreneurs and innovators in realizing and commercializing their ideas. DURA also builds local capacities through education and training for unemployed individuals, youth, entrepreneurs, people with special needs, and civil society organizations. The agency’s work spans key sectors such as civil society, entrepreneurship, rural development, energy efficiency, sustainable transport, environmental protection, digital innovation (Smart City Dubrovnik), cultural heritage, tourism, and participatory governance. With extensive experience in preparing, managing, and implementing around 50 EU-funded projects, DURA is well-positioned to contribute to this call, offering strong local knowledge, project management expertise, and a clear development mandate.
