Introduction
In this section you can find all the deliverables produced by CYROS project.
The CYROS project aims to enhance sea-mobility solutions and promote the "green transition" by developing a strategic cycling route along the Adriatic coast in Italy and Croatia.
Key outcomes include cross-border strategies, joint training programs, and ICT tools for stakeholders and users. By addressing gaps and promoting cooperation between the two countries, CYROS contributes to improved routes and services, aligning with the goals of the EUSAIR action plan.
Cross-border cycling network and multimodality
Cross-border cycling network and multimodality
Development of the ADRIATIC-IONIAN Cycle Route in the Programme area, by mapping the overall route as well as designing specific links, as a backbone of a cross-border and internal network of
multimodal services to support the cyclists' journeys.
Main outputs of this work package are:
- New intermodal and cross-border bike&bus connection between Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region and Region of Istria
- New solutions fostering cycling and intermodality along the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route
Mapping the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route in the Programme area
Mapping the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route in the Programme area
First step in Work Package 1 aimed at mapping the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route in the Programme area, including its coastal network and its main cycle connections to the hinterland, thus identifying missing sections, investments and related initiatives by various actors.
In doing this, data related to long-distance cycle routes, belonging to different levels (ranging from the European to regional ones), have been gathered and integrated. The data to be collected are mainly referred to the Italy-Croatia programme area. Anyway, as the CYROS project is also addressing and promoting linkages to inner regions, data related to connections extending outside the Programme area have been gathered as well.
Designing the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route in Istria region
Designing the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route in Istria region
Designing a cycling infrastructure of macro-regional relevance, represented by a section of the cyclepath in Istria region, being part of the coastal route of the Adriatic-Ionian cycle route in a section where it overlaps with Eurovelo 8.
Multimodal transport solutions
Multimodal transport solutions
Planning and designing a set of multimodal transport solutions (bike&bus, bike&train, bike&boat, multimodal and integrated public transport, bike rack on shuttle buses etc.) with local, regional, national and crossborder dimension.
Sustainable mobility and tourism
Sustainable mobility and tourism
The aim of this work package is to promote a sustainable mobility in the Programme area, supporting a sustainable tourism linked to the Adriatic-Ionian Cycle Route, exploiting ICT technologies and sharing expertise and knowledge throughout joint training schemes.
The main output is development of joint training schemes on sustainable mobility and cycle routes data collection.
Diversified crossborder tourism offer
Diversified crossborder tourism offer
This deliverable presents the defining and developing a diversified cross-border tourism offer.
The data methodology defined in this report focuses on two different kinds of data:
- Tourist offer
- Cycling routes
This Deliverable of the CYROS project and serves as the database of new itineraries/ tourist packages created along the Adriatic-Ionian Cycle Route, as well as the operational plan of development of cyclo-tourism.
Designing and planning joint training schemes on sustainable mobility and tourism
Joint training schemes
Sustainable mobility is a key driver for regional development, environmental protection, and improved urban liveability. In this context, the Joint Training Schemes on Sustainable Mobility and Cycle Routes Data Collection aims to equip stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively plan, implement, and manage cycling mobility strategies.
Development implementation plans on cycle tourism
Implementation plans on cycle tourism
The activities related to the development of cycle tourism in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County continue with the preparation of the Action Plan for the Development of Cycle Tourism. This plan assesses the current situation on the ground, defines priority short-term goals, provides guidelines for improving existing routes, and establishes specific standards for cycling trail signage. The Action Plan approaches the topic from a territorial perspective, dividing the region into four areas: Dubrovnik and its surroundings, Neretva, Pelješac, and the islands, each treated as a separate unit for data analysis.
Training course material
