Introduction
SUMMA addresses key challenges in cross-border passenger mobility and connectivity between ports and inland areas, focusing on reducing traffic congestion during the tourist season and improving multimodal transport links. The project aims to enhance intermodal mobility in the Italy-Croatia Adriatic region by developing cross-border strategies and implementing pilot actions that improve connectivity between ports, airports, railways, and urban areas, ultimately integrating the area with the TEN-T network.
To achieve its goals, SUMMA will develop a strategy for intermodal mobility and conduct pilot actions that include digital solutions, a legal framework for a single ticketing system and sustainable multimodal transport improvements. By incorporating participatory processes, an online transport data platform and legal groundwork for a unified ticketing system, the project will provide benefits to public and private transport providers, local and regional authorities, and the general public, fostering long-term improvements in cross-border mobility.
