Official presentation in Cervia, by the Institute for Transport and logistics (ITL), introducing e-bikes for tourists

Place: Cervia (Emilia-Romagna Region), headquarters of Federalberghi Ascom Cervia
Time: Monday, June 28th, 2021

The MIMOSA initiative promoted electric and sustainable mobility among tourists of the Municipality of Cervia, financed by the European Interreg Italy-Croatia "MIMOSA" project, with the official presentation of the project as well. During this event, the first MIMOSA electric bikes were consigned to the selected hotels, in order to start the first testing phase during the summer 2021. The key objectives of the MIMOSA pilot in Cervia are twofold: the first is related to the promotion of electric mobility among tourists at urban level and the second key objective is to collect data on the main cyclist behaviours in order to provide better data for the urban planning. This innovative mapping activity is possible thanks to the GPS systems installed in each MIMOSA e-bike.
The event was organized in two different phases:

  • The first part was an operative session with the hotels selected for managing the bikes. This part of the event was a one-to-one meeting with the hotels in order to explain what MIMOSA project does.
  • The second part was the official MIMOSA pilot presentation.

The event was introduced by Gianni Casadei, President of Federalberghi Ascom Cervia and Guido Fabbri, President of the Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL). The other speakers were Massimo Medri, Major of Cervia, Andrea Corsini, Regional Councillor on mobility and transport, infrastructure and trade of Emilia-Romagna Region and Fabio Giatti, Administrator of FIVE, Fabbrica Italiana Veicoli Elettrici.

The recording (in Italian) of the event is available on Youtube.
