Second local event in Puglia: Science, monitoring and early warning to protect marine biodiversity

Second local event in Puglia

On Tuesday, November 3, the Don Tonino Bello Hall at the "Pontificio Seminario Regionale Pugliese Pio XI" in Molfetta will host the local event of the project.

Organized by the Department of Environment, Landscape, and Urban Quality of the Apulia Region, the event provides an open platform for dialogue among institutions, experts, researchers, and citizens to take stock of monitoring systems, predictive models, and early warning solutions against non-indigenous species (NIS) in the Adriatic Sea.

The proceedings will kick off at 4:00 PM with institutional greetings from the Puglia Region, the City of Molfetta, the Pontifical Seminary and the Maritime Directorate of Apulia and Ionian Basilicata, moderated by the journalist Salvatore Petrarolo. This will be followed by a technical session featuring contributions from ARPA Puglia, CMCC, IBBR-CNR, CIHEAM, and the Coast Guard.

The meeting represents an important opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between institutions and experts and engage the community in safeguarding marine ecosystems. The event is open to the public, with reserved parking available on site.
