WP 1 - Comprehensive Analysis

To gain knowledge on the current state of food waste in targeted regions across the Programme area and its impact on the environment, including the release of green house gases, and the degradation of critical areas, identify the legal framework and learn from the good practices models for food waste prevention and management and develop a stakeholder’s engagement model to aid in the reduction of food waste

Conduct A Food Waste Audit And Research On The Impact Of Food Waste On The Environment

 

  • Cross-border guide to conduct food waste audit

Step-by-step instructions on how to conduct a food waste audit in a cross-border context. The guide will include detailed information on how to collect data, as well as how to analyse the data collected and how to interpret the results of the food waste audit and how to use the information

  • Food Waste Audit

The actual food waste audit report that summarizes the findings of the audit, including the amount of food waste generated in the targeted regions, the main sources of food waste, and the impact of food waste on the environment. The food waste audit will involve various stakeholders.

Status Quo Of Food Waste Prevention And Management

 

  • Joint analysis of policy framework, included policy brief

A comprehensive report that focuses to policy frameworks related to food waste prevention and management in the participating countries. It will include the identification of gaps in current policies, best practices, and recommendations for improvement

  • n.4 ECOFOODCYCLE Talks

ECOFOODCYCLE Talks will bring together stakeholders from different sectors to discuss food waste prevention and management. Talks will provide a platform to present project, share best practices, challenges, and opportunities related to food waste reduction and management

  • Media package

It involves the creation of press reviews, social media content, interviews to promote the project's activities and outcomes. The media package will help to disseminate the project's results to a wider audience, including policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public.

Mapping Existing Food Waste Prevention And Outstanding Management Initiatives In Programme Countries And Eu

 

  • Inspirational guide

A collection of good practices and initiatives for reducing food waste at the EU, national and regional levels. It is a valuable resource for individuals, businesses, and governments to get familiar with the existing initiatives and serve as a source of inspiration of implementing the new ones

  • Didactic promo videos

Set of educational promotional videos that aim to inform and inspire the public about ways to reduce food waste. The purpose of this deliverable is to provide an engaging and accessible way for people to learn about the issue of food waste and how they can take action to reduce it

Roadmap For Cross Border Actions

 

  • Stakeholder engagement model

Framework for collaboration and coordination among the various stakeholders involved in the effort to reduce food waste. It will also ensure that the efforts are aligned with the roadmap for cross-border actions, and that each stakeholder is contributing in a meaningful way towards the shared goal

  • Guidelines to reduce food waste

Set of guidelines that show internal and external reasons causing food waste, benefits of taking action against food waste and possible solutions how food can be used and treated instead of being wasted for consumer, food service, retail, primary production, waste management

WP 2

Wp 2 - Small Steps, Big Impact: Piloting Local Food Waste Reduction Initiatives

To develop and test solutions for reducing food waste through an interactive online platform with a variety of tools and resources, and through small-scale pilot actions tailored to the specific needs and opportunities of each region, with the ultimate goal of building a cross-border network of stakeholders and initiatives that can work together to reduce food waste in a sustainable and effective manner

Development Of Cross Border Platform For Food Waste Prevention And Management

Interactive platform that will be available to users across all participating regions. The platform will provide users with a range of resources and tools to help them tackle the issue of food waste

Testing Solutions Through Small-Scale Pilots

 

  • N.8 small scale pilotactions

Specific initiatives implemented to test and evaluate new approaches to reducing food waste, such as awareness-raising campaigns, optimization of production and service processes.The goal is to identify approaches that can be scaled up and adopted more widely. At least 1 per each PP

  • Promo materials (digital campaigns, posters and brochures) on reducing food waste

Various digital campaigns, posters, and brochures aimed at promoting the importance of reducing food waste and educating the public on practical tips and solutions to address the issue

ACTIVITY 2.3

Assessment And Follow Up

 

  • Joint assessment report

In-depth report that includes information on each of the 8 pilot actions, detailing the methods used, the results obtained, and the environmental benefits achieved. The report also identifies strengths and weaknesses and providing recommendations for improvement
