Innovation and Cross-Border Cooperation Opportunities Presented for Blue Economy SMEs in Opatija

The ECCENTRIC project participated in the international event held in Opatija focused on innovation, maritime security and sustainable growth in the Adriatic blue economy sectors. During the dedicated ECCENTRIC session, project partners presented pilot activities, innovation support tools, SME–research collaboration opportunities and funding possibilities for Croatian and Italian SMEs.

Call for Solutions: Matchmaking Innovation Providers with Adriatic Blue Economy SMEs

Project connects innovation providers, research institutions and technology developers with SMEs from the Adriatic blue economy through a structured matchmaking process. SME BRIEFs presenting concrete challenges and solution needs are available on the project landing page, enabling direct engagement and partnership building. Selected matches will pitch at a hybrid event and formalise cooperation, fostering cross-border collaboration without direct financial support in this phase

REOPENED PUBLIC CALL FOR THE INCLUSION OF ENTREPRENEURS AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS IN THE ECCENTRIC PROJECT

SMEs and scientific research institutions in Croatia active in the blue economy are invited to join the ECCENTRIC project to support innovation, green and digital transition, and cross-border cooperation with partners from Croatia and Italy. Selected participants will access pilot activities, international networking, expert funding advice, an AI-based financial planning tool, and opportunities to pitch to potential investors.

Events in Bologna – 12 & 13 February 2026

An inspirational event bringing together EU-funded projects under the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme to explore how artificial intelligence can address real challenges in coastal territories and the blue economy. Through keynotes, project case studies and interactive workshops, participants will discuss AI applications for resilience, sustainability, fisheries, environmental monitoring and innovation at sea.
