The E-CITIJENS Awareness Campaign in the City of Dubrovnik.

The City of Dubrovnik organised a series of Info Days targeting local citizens, visitors and primary-school children, as part of the Citizens Awareness Raising Campaign.

The meetings took place in between 11th and 31st of May. The first Info Days were held within the celebrations of the Europe Day and European Week (between May 10th and 14th) and involved the local population as well as tourists in understanding the project, its objectives and expected results as well as the role citizens can have as "active sensors" of emergencies. Also, the city administration hosted pupils from the ˝Marin Držić˝ elementary school, who visited the premises of the administration and were introduced to the E-CITIJENS project.

On Monday 31 May, the City of Dubrovnik organised the
Info Day "Reducing the risk of natural disasters and the correct response / action in the event of an earthquake", in collaboration with the Regional office for protection and rescue Dubrovnik.
This time, the Info Day was dedicated to third grade pupils from the Montovjerna Primary School.
Considering that Central Croatia was struck by strong earthquakes twice in 2020, and suffered both human losses and extended damage, the E-CITIJENS Awareness Raising Campaign is timely and relevant to all Croatian citizens and to children.  Thanks to the involvement of Mrs. Ana Miličić, head of the Civil Protection Service Dubrovnik, students gained an insight on the "General Rules of Conduct for Children in the Event of Earthquakes".  A special emphasis was placed on how to increase resilience and safety including instructions on what to do before, during and after earthquakes and the responsible use of social media during emergencies.
