11th Project Team Meeting: Evaluating Progress and Planning Next Steps for Implementation

The meeting focused on the progress of activities within Period 5, with particular emphasis on the development of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for flood prevention, alignment of key deliverables, and preparation of upcoming outputs. Discussions highlighted the importance of ensuring consistency across feasibility studies, project documentation, and strategic integration of NbS into planning frameworks.

Nature-Based Solutions and Replication Pathways Discussed at AcquaGuard Workshop in Karlovac

The workshop focused on the practical application of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for flood risk reduction in Karlovac County. Participants reviewed the project’s NbS Portfolio and discussed its feasibility, integration into planning processes, and potential for replication. Through interactive group work, stakeholders analysed local challenges, identified suitable solutions, and explored implementation barriers and possible ways to overcome them.

Within AcquaGuard WP3, we have developed a comprehensive set of practical materials designed to support regions in planning, prioritising, and implementing NbS.

14th Standard Projects COM Meetup & Training on AI and Project Communication

On 22 January 2026, AcquaGuard participated in the 14th Standard Projects COM Meetup and Training on AI and Project Communication, held in Venice at the Interreg Italy-Croatia Joint Secretariat. The event brought together communication managers from Standard Projects to exchange experiences and strengthen skills related to project visibility, website management and the use of artificial intelligence in communication.

Where Nature Works: Field Insights from Veneto 3rd Stakeholder Engagement meeting

As part of the AcquaGuard project, Project team members participated in the 3rd Stakeholder Engagement Meeting in the Veneto region, which included a field visit to two nature-based solution sites: the Marzenego Forest (Salzano Wetland) and the Noale Cave Oasis. and testing of the first version of the RHEA-DAPT decision-support tool and discussions on its application in assessing flood and coastal risks.
