Noise Clean Up Event in Veli Lošinj
The Blue World Institute will organize the Noise Clean Up Event on January 17, 2026, in Veli Lošinj, as part of the St. Anthony Cup – Lignjada.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of underwater noise pollution and to actively involve citizens in addressing this growing environmental challenge. At 11:30 AM, a dedicated talk will be held to present the UNDERSEA Project (UNDerwatER Soundscape bEyond Ais) and its objectives, with a special focus on underwater noise monitoring and mitigation in the Adriatic Sea.
During the event, the UNDERSEA citizen science app will be officially presented. The application enables citizens to contribute directly to scientific research by collecting data on maritime activities, supporting the development of analytical models, and strengthening knowledge on the impact of anthropogenic noise on marine ecosystems.
By combining scientific research, technology and public participation, the Noise Clean Up Event represents an important opportunity to foster dialogue and collective responsibility for the protection of the marine environment.
