Noise cleanup event in Puglia, Torre Guaceto.
We are happy to share that a Noise Clean-Up Event will take place in Torre Guaceto on 25 November 2025, hosted at the Al Gawsit Visitor Centre in Carovigno. The event is organized by ARPA Puglia and Fondazione Cetacea as part of the Interreg Italy–Croatia UNDERSEA Project, which focuses on understanding and reducing the impact of underwater noise in the Adriatic Sea.
Underwater noise is an invisible but growing form of pollution, and those who live and work close to the sea — including small-scale fishers — play a key role in understanding and protecting marine life. For this reason, the event will bring together institutions, experts, and the local fishing community to share knowledge, tools, and experiences.
Throughout the day, participants will learn more about the UNDERSEA project and discover the new application developed to monitor recreational nautical traffic and support collaborative data collection. The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation between science, governance, and people who experience the sea directly every day.
Everyone involved is invited to take part in a constructive dialogue and contribute to building a quieter and healthier marine environment for the Adriatic Sea.
