Joint Desk Analysis of Cultural, Creative and Civil Society Ecosystems in the Adriatic Region
Joint Desk Analysis of Cultural, Creative and Civil Society Ecosystems in the Adriatic Region
The Joint Desk Analysis (D.1.1.1) consolidates the territorial mapping carried out within the SOCRAT project across five Adriatic regions: Puglia, Veneto, Istria, Kvarner, and Zadar. The document provides a cross-border overview of local ecosystems of Cultural and Creative Industries, contemporary art, and civil society organisations, serving as a foundational evidence base for subsequent project phases, including the Creative Living Labs and the development of the SOCRAT Strategy. By applying a triangulation-based methodological framework, the analysis identifies key actors, territorial specificities and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, supporting the development of sustainable, community-led cultural tourism.
SOCRAT Strategy
SOCRAT Strategy
Strategy for disseminating and promoting the SOCRAT model that aims to foster a holistic, community-led approach to tourism development and community empowerment by strengthening collaboration among the project’s three pillars: artists, local industry, and civil society organizations.
Serving as a common guide for partners and stakeholders, it promotes sustainable tourism and supports local communities through the use of Creative Living Labs, ultimately contributing to reducing regional vulnerability to tourism fluctuations.
SOCRAT Methodology for Sustainable Cultural Tourism
SOCRAT Methodology for Sustainable Cultural Tourism
The SOCRAT Methodology (D.1.3.1) defines the operational framework for implementing the project’s vision of sustainable, community-based cultural tourism through a triangular collaboration between artists, Cultural and Creative Industries, and civil society organisations. Built on the evidence and insights generated in Work Package 1, the methodology translates territorial analysis into a coherent, flexible set of tools and guidelines applicable across the Italy–Croatia programme area. It provides strategic and practical support for the development of Creative Living Labs, cross-sector co-creation processes and long-term capacity building, ensuring that project actions are responsive to local contexts and capable of generating lasting impact.
