University of Zadar, June 18–19, 2026

Within the SOCRAT project (Interreg Italy–Croatia), the University of Zadar will host the conference Co-creating Sustainable Tourism. It brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community representatives to exchange knowledge on sustainable, inclusive, and authentic tourism development. The focus is on co-creating tourism policies, products, and experiences by engaging local communities and highlighting local culture, gastronomy, and innovation.

Submission:
Extended abstract (scientific): 500–800 words
Abstract (practice-oriented): up to 500 words
Key Dates:

Submission deadline: April 1, 2026
Notification of acceptance: April 15, 2026
Full paper submission: July 15, 2026
Publishing Opportunities:
Participants can submit papers to journals including Acta Turistica, Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal, Academica Turistica, Economic Thought and Practice, and Oeconomica Jadertina. All papers undergo double-blind peer review. Other papers will appear in the Socrat Academic Conference Proceedings.

Conference Fee
Free participation for one author/co-author per paper, including:
Conference sessions & materials
Refreshments, lunches, social dinner
Guided tour of Zadar
Additional co-authors may attend sessions only. No extra funding is available.
