TEN-DAY TEXTILE AND FASHION DESIGN CREATIVE LIVING LABORATORY, FROM JANUARY 24TH TO FEBRUARY 14TH

Round table "Textiles and Fashion Design" on Saturday, January 24th at the Novo Gallery in Pula, starting at 6 P.M.

The round table "Textiles and Fashion Design" will be held at the Novo Gallery in Pula on Saturday, January 24th, starting at 6 P.M., and is part of the Creative Living Laboratory of Textiles and Fashion Design of the SOCRAT project - Networking Crafts and Contemporary Art for Sustainable Tourism (Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021-2027). and implemented by the Region of Istria, Administrative Department for Culture and Heritage. The focus of the round table, which will be moderated by costume designer Kristina Nefat, president of the Croatian Association of Interdisciplinary Artists – HUiU, will be a contemporary interpretation of Istrian traditional cuts using natural materials and eco-print as a visual accent. The participants and participants of the round table are: Dr.sc. Lidija Nikočević, independent curator, who will talk about Istrian traditional clothing and the messages it carries; Mirjana Margetić, from the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, will present on the museological interpretation of Istrian folk costumes; Dr.sc. Katarina Nina Simončić, will talk about the history of clothing, fashion and fashion design; Creative Living Lab mentor fashion designer Fillipo Laterza will present his work and breakthrough on the local and international scene.

Namely, from January 24 to February 14 in Pula, the laboratory mentor, Fillipo Laterza, as a renowned fashion designer with distinguished international experience and numerous awards and recognitions, will, together with Staša Doblanović Randall, a Pula fashion designer established on the international scene, whose focus is on a sustainable approach to fashion, and other participants of the Creative Living Lab of Textiles and Fashion Design of the SOCRAT project, design innovative cultural tourism prototypes, products, services and experiences. During the ten-day work, the Laboratory participants, artists and experts will engage in territorial research of heritage and tradition as the foundations for joint creation. The emphasis will be on developing conceptual and technical foundations for six models that will later be completed and exhibited in July 2026.
